Harlow and Ruby’s Research project.

In Te Maunga we have been doing a Research project, all you need to do is choose a topic to search about. We learnt that Sea lions can swim up to a speed up to 25 miles per hour. My favourite part was making the Google Slides. My challenge was making sure I got it finished on time.

Tsunami day.

On Friday March 5 Paihia School evacuated because of a tsunami and

we all went up a hill. Then everyone came up the hill and then the teachers finally said it was for real and then I started crying and so did my friends. Then I called my mum and dad and nan to ask if they were ok and they said yes so I started coming down and me and my friends started talking where there was no one else. Then we had a sausage and bread and it was delish. The tiny tsunami came and we finally went down the hill and most people went home after a long day and some of us stayed and got an ice block. Then I got a little piece of paper saying that I have to catch the bus to Aura-Jean's house so me and my sister did the end.

Swimming time

In Te Maunga we went swimming. We learnt to do sculling. Sculling was my favourite because we had to do it for three minutes. It was a very awesome time.

My cool Pepeha

In Te Maunga we have been learning about our Pepeha. We got to choose if we wanted to do our Maunga or awa I chose to do my Maunga. First we had to sketch our Maunga out on a piece of paper. Then we got a fresh piece of paper and we had to draw it again. We had to color it in

Harlow's Te Reo art

with a pastel and then we had to use an art pencil to outline the pastel. If we wanted to we could do a Maori pattern on the outside. Then we could do a whakatauki. My favourite part about this artwork was doing the pattern on the sides of the piece of paper. My challenge that I faced was the colouring in because it was hard getting all the white spots because you would always miss the white spots.

Harlow and Littas fun Statistics Investigation

In Te Maung we all did a statis investigation. We learnt how to collect data and lots more. The thing that I enjoyed the most was making a google sheet to show people the information of all the data we collected. The challenge that I faced most was trying to work when other people were asking me questions.

Sea week day

On March 24th we had visitors in to Paihia School there names were Jaden and Sherlly the visit was called the sea week visit.  We learnt  how to measure a fish and how to help a whale if it was stranded on the beach. My favourite bet was when we learnt how to help a whale because we had to make a chain of people so we wouldn't spell the water.

Easter time

On Easter my family went to Rotorua. My family and I went on the Luge and I got to ride my own. My favorite thing was having dinner every night because we got something yum. The Luge was awesome too. I faced some Challenges like going down a big hill on the Luge

The amazing last day of school

In Te Maunga on the last day of school we had fun activities about the ocean to keep the ocean clean. We learnt how hard it is to clean up an oil spill and lots more. My thing that I enjoyed the most was trying to clean up an oil spill. I faced some challenges on that day like cleaning up the oil.

Harlow’s Character description

In Te Maunga we did T-shape  Literacy about Character description for reading. We learnt how to put in heaps of description and tell if people are good or bad by what they are doing. My favourite part was drawing our favourite movie character. I had a couple of challenges that I faced like we had to describe characters in texts
